Workshop

Positive Mindset

This workshop teaches participants to recognize and interrupt negative thinking patterns and rebuild engagement, with particular attention to the pressures of remote and hybrid work. Participants learn practical self-awareness tools, including the STOP tool for pausing before reacting, Cy Wakeman's Three Questions for separating fact from story, and the Reframing tool for converting judgment-laden statements into constructive, forward-looking language. Much of the practice centers on real workplace challenges participants bring to the table, including a close look at how conflict shifts—and can escalate—when communication happens over email, chat, or video instead of in person. Participants work in pairs and small groups throughout, then close by committing to specific tools they'll use the next time they notice negativity or disengagement in themselves or their team.

Introduction: Positive Mindset

5 exercises · ~37 min

This introductory module teaches self-awareness tools for shifting out of negative thinking and rebuilding engagement, especially in remote and hybrid work settings. Participants begin with a breathing warm-up and a partner check-in to surface a real workplace challenge or engagement issue, then learn the STOP tool (Stop, Take a breath, Observe the facts, Pick an approach) for pausing and responding deliberately to difficult moments. The module also introduces the discussion of how the online disinhibition effect and other remote-communication dynamics can erode trust on hybrid teams, and closes with participants making personal commitments to keep practicing these tools.

Three Questions

4 exercises · ~41 min

This module teaches Cy Wakeman's Three Questions ??? What do I know for sure? What can I do to help? What would great look like? ??? as a tool for editing the "stories" we tell ourselves about difficult situations into observable facts and constructive action. After a short video introduction, participants pair up to apply the three questions to a real challenge they're currently facing, using open questions like "How do you know that for sure?" and "What else can you do?" to help a partner separate fact from narrative. The module closes with a group discussion on what worked, where people struggled, and what other questions could serve the same purpose.

Tool: Reframing

0 exercises

This module teaches Reframing, a conflict analysis tool for converting negative, judgment-laden statements into neutral or forward-looking language. Participants learn to validate the feelings and reactions behind a statement, clarify the underlying behaviors and situations at play, and convert negative words into productive ideas that shift the focus from "what's gone wrong" to "what I would like to see going forward." Participants practice by rewriting heated, accusatory statements (e.g., "Your team is impossible to work with") into constructive alternatives, then apply the tool to their own real conflict situation by writing self-focused, impact-focused, and need-focused statements that reframe the conflict as a shared goal.

Closing: Positive Mindset

1 exercise · ~7 min

This closing module helps participants consolidate what they've learned across the Positive Mindset workshop and commit to applying it. Through guided reflection questions, participants identify what became clearer to them and select specific self-management tools they will use the next time they notice a negative attitude or disengagement in themselves or their team.

Communication During Remote Conflict

0 exercises

This module looks at how conflict plays out when teams communicate remotely rather than face-to-face. Using a short video ("Lose a Fight") as a discussion trigger, participants examine how tone, body language, and word choice change???and can be misread???when disagreements happen over email, chat, or video calls instead of in person. The exercise generalizes to any remote or hybrid work conflict where physical cues are limited or absent.
